Avaya license card, the use of this type of card with the IP 500 V2 / V2A controller is a mandatory component. The card is used for licensing the system as well as for getting the integrated voicemail if needed. It also contains the firmware files that are downloaded by the system and phones when installing the system.

Avaya license card

• The card ID number is printed on the card label after the ID PLDS, FK SN, or FK depending on the age of the card. On newer cards it is a 12-digit number. Old cards may have a 10-digit number. For a PLDS license, use the 12-digit number. On old cards, for licensing, the 10-digit number is prefixed with 11.

• By default, the card can be used for 2 built-in voicemail ports. A maximum of 6 additional ports can be enabled by adding licenses. Voice mailbox message and instant capacity support 2 simultaneous connections and 15 hours of storage. This can be expanded up to 6 channels by adding licenses, each of which can each enable 2 additional channels and 5 additional hours of storage.

These cards should only be formatted using the IP Office Manager application or the System State application. Cards should only be removed from a system after the card has been turned off or the system has been turned off.

• IP Card U-LA SD Code
The IP Office 500 V2/V2A console equipped with this type of card defaults to UN-LoN intended for North American boilers.

• SD card office IP card
The IP Office 500 V2 / V2A console equipped with this type of card defaults to the A-Location Dial-Up Operation and IP Office Basic Edition PBX. Intended for stores outside North America.

Built-in voicemail
The system SD card can be used to provide an embedded system voicemail.

By default, the card can be used for 2 built-in voicemail ports. A maximum of 6 additional ports can be enabled by adding licenses. This can be expanded up to 6 channels by adding licenses, each of which can each enable 2 additional channels and 5 additional hours of storage.

• PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) is a method for encoding audio as data. In telephony, PCM coding and two methods are widely used, law and wave law (also called U law). MU-LAMA is usually used in North America and a few locations while the rest of the world law. In addition to setting the correct PCM encoding for the region, setting the MU-LOW LINE of the IP office system on its first startup affects a wide range of regional defaults related to line settings and other values.

• For the IP Office 500 V2 / V2A console, the default codec is set by the type of SD card installed when the system is first started.
